Eye exams available

at our Globaleyes location

Fall 2017

Routine eye examinations consist of three parts:

  • Health and wellness examination - The doctor does a physical examination of the front and back of the eye using various illumination devices. This may or may not require dialation of the eye.
  • Refraction - The doctor places several lenses in front of the eyes to gain a "true refraction". He/she then asks the patient to look at a letter chart to gain a "subjective refraction" - the lens combination that the patient is most comfortable wearing.
  • Contact Lens Fitting - The contact fitting is only performed on patients currently wearing or desiring to wear contact lenses. It is considered to be "cosmetic" by most insurance companies and not covered by insurance.
